If you are concerned about severe weather during your trip, we ask that you upgrade to one of our sedans or cancel your booking prior to 48 hours before the start of your trip (see our cancellation policy above).

DRIVING RENTAL QUESTIONS

DO YOU PERMIT DRIVING RENTALS?

For the most part, no.

However, at our sole discretion, we reserve the right to offer SHORT DISTANCE driving rentals (<1 mile), typically in conjunction with a major commercial production (e.g. feature film, major photo/video shoot, or music video). In those scenarios, the driver must meet driving eligibility requirements and be approved in advance (see below for details). A 50% surcharge applies to driving rentals in order to cover the cost of additional insurance. DriveShare by Hagerty is our insurance partner in these rare scenarios.

What are your DRIVING rental requirements?

The following requirements apply in the rare scenario where we approve a *short distance* driving rental:

  • the driver must be at least 30 years of age with a valid, USA driver’s license, a clean driving history over the past five years (which is validated through a driving history check prior to rental), and valid personal auto insurance;

  • the driver must be present at the time of the rental to complete the agreement and receive a walkthrough of the car's controls;

  • the driver must agree to the terms of service/supplemental agreement and provide a $500 hold on their credit card as a security deposit.

For manual transmission cars, each driver must have a demonstrated proficiency in driving a stick. If we assess at pickup that you are not able to operate the car skillfully, we will have to cancel your reservation and you will forfeit your payment.

How is insurance handled FOR DRIVING RENTALS?

For driving rentals, the driver's personal auto policy will be the primary insurance. secondary insurance is provided via our strategic partner, Driveshare by Hagerty. Every vehicle rented via DriveShare includes a supplemental auto policy that provides supplemental coverage for both bodily injury and property damage for the rental period, in case there is an issue with coverage on your primary auto policy.

AUTOMOBILE-RELATED QUESTIONS

are your VINTAGE CARS authentic? does your rolls-royce have a genuine rolls-royce engine?

Yes, both our 1959 and 1965 Rolls-Royce Silver Clouds have their original, Rolls-Royce engines! (this is very unique within the transportation industry where the vast majority of vintage “Rolls-Royces” have been converted to a Chevrolet drivetrain)

The same goes for our 1947 Cadillac -- which also has its original, numbers-matching flathead V8 engine!

Our 1965 Ford Mustang has an authentic, but upgraded 302ci Ford V8 engine.

Are you offering an *original* 1959 porsche 356 speedster?

Nearly all of our cars are genuine originals, however, original 1959 Porsche 356 Convertibles are now valued at well over $300,000 USD. As such, they are too rare to drive (or so we are told by our insurance company). As such, Revvies Classics commissioned a faithful reproduction of the super rare 1959 Porsche 356A Convertible-D, made by the prestigious Intermeccanica company. Even lifelong Porsche enthusiasts can't tell the difference between our Porsche and the original! As such, Intermeccanica's Porsche 356s are themselves highly sought after and collected around the world!
